A Guide To Hiring Wedding Reception Rentals

Make sure you know what is included in your rental fee when you book your reception venue. Every venue is unique, so it's important to discuss with the manager what items are provided and what rentals you need. This list of questions will help you decide what is included. As always, ensure that all agreements are in writing. You may need to provide some or all of the items below depending on where you are having your reception.

1. Chairs

You will need seating arrangements for all guests at the reception, whether you are serving a buffet or seated dinner. You may be able to provide enough chairs for half of your guests if you are hosting a buffet-style cocktail reception. Chair covers may be required to be purchased or rented separately. Rental companies should have high chairs for children. If you want to get chairs on rent for your event, then you can contact party rentals.

2. Chair covers and Linens

You may find linens or chair covers included with your rented tables and/or chairs. Or you might need to purchase them from another source.

3. Tableware

Tables are typically set up with place settings for a formal sit-down reception. For a buffet reception, guests may serve themselves and place plates and silverware at the buffet table.

4. Tent

Outdoor receptions may require a large canopy or tent to shelter you and your guests from the rain or sun.

There are many options: Canopies and tents come in different sizes. For a sit-down meal, 40 people can be accommodated in a smaller tent (20 by 20 feet). A 20-by-40 tent costs 200 and a 60 by-100 tent about 500. You may need several canopies depending on the layout of your reception area.

Talk to several party rental companies to discuss your options.
